Kane Co. Clerk announces polling place changes

Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham reminds voters who are registered in Precincts Geneva 2, St. Charles 5, and St. Charles 9 that their polling place has been changed.

Due to construction, the Baker Community Center of St. Charles will not be serving as a polling place for the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Precincts Geneva 2, St. Charles 5 and St. Charles 9 are now assigned to St. Charles Free Methodist Church, 214 Walnut St. in St. Charles.

Voters registered in these precincts were mailed new polling place change voter registration cards. A notice will be sent closer to the general election.

As a reminder, Kane County Clerk John A. Cunningham asks residents to vote early or request to vote by mail to avoid any lines on Election Day.

For information, call the Voter Registration Office at (630) 232-5990. Visit www.kanecountyelections.org.

Early voting allows voters to cast a full ballot before Election Day. Although voters can still go to their polling place on Nov. 8, this is intended to make voting easier for everyone. This cuts down on lines at the polling place as well as allowing voters to vote when it fits their schedule.

The period for early voting by personal appearance begins Sept. 29, only at the Kane County Clerk's Office, and extends through the end of the day before election day.

Early voting at early permanent polling places and other early voting locations, begins Oct. 24, and extends through the end of day before election day. You may go to any one of these locations to vote early. Early voting is not conducted at your usual polling place. Polling places will only be open for voting on the observed Election Day.
