'The Man with the Plastic Sandwich' comes to Riverfront Playhouse

Riverfront Playhouse, 11 S. Water St. in Aurora, will present the comedy, "The Man with the Plastic Sandwich" by Roger Karshner at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, July 29 to Sept. 3.

After 20 years, Walter Price is unemployed. A bench in a park somewhere in Los Angeles has become Walter Price's haven. For six months he has stopped here to have a sandwich and coffee after fruitless mornings of job hunting. He's depressed and frustrated and at a loss what to do with his life. Three uniquely different characters invade Walter's life at the park, and though he tries to push them away, he is unable to ignore their presence or the perspectives on life they bring with them.

Directed by Shawn Dooley, "The Man with the Plastic Sandwich" features Patrick Deering of Batavia as Walter, Jennifer Schreiner of Plainfield as Ellie, Gary Riggle of Aurora as Haley, and Briana Reidy of Aurora as Lenore. Vicki White is assistant to the director and Analissa Morris is stage manager.

Tickets are $17, $15 for students and seniors.

Reservations are encouraged and can be made online or by calling the box office at (630) 897-9496.
