Farm to Fork Festival in Schaumburg Aug. 20

Some of the area's top chefs will prepare and serve dishes with locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats and cheeses at the Farm to Fork Festival, scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 20, at the Schaumburg Park District's Volkening Heritage Farm.

Open to adults 21 and older, the evening also will feature locally made beers and wines. Vendors include Duke's Alehouse & Kitchen, Emmett's Brewing Company and Goose & Fox. Pies from Bang Bang Pie Shop also will be served.

"This is a great opportunity to highlight regional foods, and show there's an alternative to the grocery store," said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator.

Dinner entertainment will feature a live string duo.

The cost is $30 per person. Registration deadline is Aug. 15. For more information, call (847) 985-2102 or visit www.parkfun.com.
