Fiery crash closes I-55 during morning commute

Illinois State Police closed one direction of a major Chicago-area expressway after a fiery morning vehicle crash.

Video from the scene showed large black plumes of smoke rising from Interstate 55, or the Stevenson Expressway, on Monday morning. Chicago Fire Department photos from the scene showed smoke rising from two charred semi-trucks. Firefighters used foam from one of the department's units at the nearby Chicago Midway International Airport to put out the truck blazes.

Firefighters say two vehicles and two semi-trucks were involved in the accident. One person was transported to the hospital in good condition.
