Speed awareness day in Lake Zurich
Lake Zurich police announced they'll participate in a speed awareness day set for Wednesday. Police officials said they'll take a proactive approach to promote safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists through education and enforcement as part of Illinois Speed Awareness Day. Officials said speed was the reason for 32.4 percent of all traffic fatalities in 2014, accounting for 348 deaths.
