National Night Out in Vernon Hills

Vernon Hills police will host its 21st National Night Out from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Hartmann Park, 292 Oakwood Road, south of Route 45.

Activities include an inflatable playground; sand volleyball games against police; DJ; face painting; games; and, free food and beverages. The event is free to attend and all residents are invited to participate.

The event is intended to build relationships between the police and residents, heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anti-crime efforts and let criminals know neighborhoods are organized.
