Police say 3 people found dead inside Indianapolis apartment

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Police say three people have been found dead inside an Indianapolis apartment where an unharmed child was sleeping when officers arrived.

Indianapolis police spokesman Maj. Richard Riddle says neighbors heard gunshots at the apartment complex on the city's northeast side about 6:20 a.m. Friday, but that police weren't called until about an hour later.

Riddle says two women were found on a couch in the front room, while a man was dead in a bedroom with the girl, who is about a year old. He says investigators didn't immediately know the relationships between those killed and the child.

Riddle says the three all suffered apparent gunshot wounds and that investigators were working to determine what happened.
