Party In the Park to Feature Multi-Cultural Entertainment

The community is invited to Fabbrini Park (1704 Glen Lake Road) on Saturday, Aug. 6, for the annual Party in the Park, hosted by the Hoffman Estates Park District. The event will feature many popular attractions including live music, games, food and activities. New this year is multi-cultural entertainment such as Irish, Indian and Spanish dancers and Japanese drummers, presented in part by the Village of Hoffman Estates.

Parents will find everything they need to keep their family happy from food, beer and entertainment for all ages, include children's games, family crafts, a petting zoo, pony rides, inflatables and a 24-foot climbing wall.

The event is open to the public from 4-10:00 p.m. Admission is free. Wrist bands will be available for $10 that will include all activities.

"Party in the Park is like a giant block party, but we do all the work," said Dean Bostrom, park district executive director. "It's a great, inexpensive way for our families to spend a summer afternoon and evening outdoors, just having fun."

Pre-teens will love the "throw-back" old-fashioned games such as tug-of-war, potato sack races, 3-legged races and water balloon toss.

Throughout the day, quench your appetite and thirst at the food and beer tent, which will be expanded this year to include more food vendors with a greater variety of options. At 8:30 p.m. the evening will draw to a close with live music performed by 90s tribute band "Run Forrest Run".

"We've definitely packed a lot of excitement into a day," said Mike Kies, director of recreation and facilities. "But I'm sure no one will mind going home exhausted."
