Élan Dance Company to Perform at Free Outdoor Events in Naperville

The Naperville Park District's Élan Dance Company is taking its dance performances outdoors this summer, with a fun, upbeat program.

The Company will appear at the following locations and times:

• Tuesday, July 26 at Children's Lunch Hour Entertainment, presented by Living Well Dental Group, at Frontier Sports Complex at 11:15 a.m. (free)

• Friday, August 6 at the Chicago Bandits game at 7:30 p.m. at The Ballpark in Rosemont (game tickets are $6.00)

• Tuesday, August 9 at the Millennium Carillon recital at 6:30 p.m. (free)

• Saturday, September 3 at the Naperville Jaycees' Last Fling, Family Fun Land Entertainment Stage located at Naper Settlement. (Details to follow.)

"The dancers have been rehearsing since early June," said Dance Coordinator Alexandra Webb. "We have in our lineup two fun jazz pieces and one lyrical piece. These dances show the diversity of the dancers' technique while being challenging and fun."

One of the choreographers, Lindsay Stein, explained the reasons that she selected "Can't Stop the Feeling" as a piece to be performed this summer. "I wanted something fun and upbeat that captured the feeling of summer," said Lindsay. "The piece also brings out the technical jazz style that the Élan dancers enjoy and do well."

Élan Dance Company is a program of the Naperville Park District. Élan's mission is to be a creative, accessible, and inclusive pre-professional dance company, offering young dancers between the ages of 9 and 21 an entry point into the world of dance performance.
