NY-based Dinosaur Bar-B-Que chain closes Chicago restaurant

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Dinosaur Bar-B-Que's foray into the barbecue-loving Midwest has gone up in smoke with the closing of its year-old Chicago restaurant.

The Syracuse-based chain of barbecue and live music joints told Chicago media outlets Wednesday that its eatery on the Windy City's North Side would close for good that night. The company removed the restaurant from its website Thursday.

The restaurant was the company's first outside the Eastern Time Zone. It opened in April 2015.

The company isn't giving a reason for the closure. It was first reported Wednesday by Eater Chicago, a website that covers the city's dining and food scene.

The closing of the Chicago restaurant leaves Dinosaur with nine locations: Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester, Troy, Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York; Newark, New Jersey; Stamford, Connecticut; and Baltimore.
