Escapee from courtroom recaptured in suburban Chicago

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (AP) - Authorities in suburban Chicago have recaptured a man who escaped from a Cook County courtroom after a judge set his bail at $30,000.

Authorities say 24-year-old Jonathan Scott ran out of a Rolling Meadows courtroom Wednesday afternoon. Cook County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Sophia Ansari says Scott was appearing on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest before he escaped.

Ansari says a bloodhound unit found Scott soon afterward in an Arlington Heights neighborhood. Helicopters also were used in the search. She says authorities are investigating how Scott was able to escape restraints. Authorities say Scott wasn't armed.

Authorities say Scott will now face additional charges.
