The Wildbird Shack helps injured birds in Chicago suburbs

The Wildbird Shack helped rescue another feathery friend last week thanks to a concerned neighbor. Cherry, as the male baby Cardinal was dubbed, was carefully transported to the Wildbird Shack with a broken wing. Swiftly whisked away to the Willowbrook Wildlife Center, he received treatment for his broken wing and dehydration.

As an official community drop off center for Chicago Bird Collision Monitors, a non profit volunteer project within the Chicago Audubon Society, we are able to help coordinate safe travel for injured birds to Willowbrook. This allows our injured feathery friends to receive the emergency care they need quickly.

If you discover a down bird, don't ignore our flying friends. They may be stunned and just need a little TLC. Put the bird in a paper bag or box and rush him to the Wildbird Shack - 854 E. Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect IL 60056 - 847-873-0409. We will get the help they need! Should you have more questions, feel free to give us a call! For more information about us, see http://www.wildbirdshack.com/.

Thank you to all of our community members helping our flying friends!
