Devils sign defenseman Reece Scarlett to two-way contract

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - The New Jersey Devils have re-signed defenseman Reece Scarlett to a one-year, two-way contract worth $600,000 at the NHL level.

General manager Ray Shero announced the signing of the restricted free agent on Monday.

Scarlett played last season with Albany (AHL), getting four goals and 22 assists in 60 games. He also played in 10 playoff games.

The 23-year-old has played with the organization for the past three seasons, appearing in 165 AHL games with 12 goals and 59 assists.

New Jersey drafted Scarlett in the sixth round of the 2011 draft.
