Kane County Fair opens Wednesday

Finishing touches were the order of the day Monday in preparation for Wednesday's opening of the 148th Kane County Fair at the fairgrounds, 525 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.

The fair combines a variety of attractions, bringing in around 60,000 people each year.

There will be no shortage of food and things for kids, plus entertainment, a petting zoo and carnival.

Fantasy Amusement is providing some new attractions such as a fun house called the Krazy Kabin, a kiddie tractor ride and a kiddie swing ride.

The fair is open 3 to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, noon to midnight Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
