Community Memorial Foundation awards $1.8 million

HINSDALE - Community Memorial Foundation's spring grant cycle has awarded more than $1.8 million dollars to enhance and expand health care access and human services programming throughout the western suburbs of Chicago.

The funding supports 35 local organizations servicing western Cook and southeastern DuPage counties, and brings the foundation's 21-year investment in the region to more than $66 million.

All Our Children's Advocacy Center and Pillars are two of the foundation's spring 2016 grant recipients. Both organizations have received funding for programs aimed at preventing sexual violence and serving those affected by the trauma of sexual abuse. Pillars will use their funding to support the Male-Allies Against Sexual Violence Initiative, a male-focused primary-prevention model which seeks to address the attitudes that contribute to sexual violence.

All Our Children's Advocacy Center in Justice will continue to provide forensic interviews, case management, family support services and criminal justice advocacy support to child abuse victims throughout the Foundation's service area. "It allows us to continue to provide high quality services in an environment that is sensitive and client-focused," said Danielle Butts, executive director of AOCAC. "We are very grateful for our continued partnership."
