Lake Bluff rail crossing closure

The Union Pacific Railroad will close the rail crossing on Route 176 east of Route 41 in Lake Bluff starting at 6 a.m., Monday, July 25. The crossing is scheduled to reopen to traffic in the early evening of Saturday, July 30. The closure is necessary to replace and widen the existing railroad crossing. During this time, the Lake County Division of Transportation will reconfigure the North Shore Bike Path and create a separate railroad crossing for the path. The detour route is Route 43 to Route 137 to Route 131.
