Geneva to spray tonight for mosquitoes

Geneva's mosquito abatement contractor will spray insecticide citywide tonight, after West Nile virus was detected in mosquitoes caught in a trap July 8 on the city's east side.

Spraying will take place from dusk until dawn.

People with asthma and other respiratory conditions are advised to stay indoors with their windows closed during the misting application and one hour afterward.

If it rains or high winds develop, the spraying will be pushed back 24 hours.

You can also register for telephone notification from the contractor, Clarke Outdoor Environmental, by calling (630) 894-2000.
