Cops `N' Bobbers fishing derby

Mundelein police will host the 19th Annual Cops 'N' Bobbers fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 16, at the Mundelein Seminary, 1000 East Maple Ave. The free event for kids aged 5-13 provides an opportunity for families to interact with Mundelein police officers. The lake will be stocked with sun fish, and bait will be provided by the Country Corner store. A limited number of poles will be available for those who need one. There will be a raffle drawing and prizes for the biggest fish, smallest fish and the most fish caught. The first 100 children will get a free T-shirt. Food and nonalcoholic beverages are allowed in the Seminary so visitors can bring a picnic lunch. Participants must be accompanied by an adult.
