Prairie Grass Cafe featuring Jazz Brunch Saturdays in August

Beginning August 6, Prairie Grass Cafe (601 Skokie Blvd.; Northbrook, IL; 847-205-4433) will be featuring a weekly Saturday Jazz Brunch. Chef Sarah Stegner and Chef George Bumbaris will be creating seasonal specials to accompany live music performed by the talented Jim Batson Duo. Jazz Brunch will continue throughout August.

Jim Batson Duo - Jim Batson has been a regular on the Chicago Jazz Scene for more than 25 years, performing as a freelance bassist, educator, audio engineer and technology expert. Jim has had the great fortune to work with some of the top pianists in Chicago area including Marshall Vente, Bobby Schiff, Mike Flack, Jose' Valdez, and many others. It will be these collaborations which will be showcased during the Jazz Brunch each Saturday.

On August 6, the Chefs will be featuring their Heirloom Tomato Benedict with Heirloom Tomatoes, "Maple Creek Farm" Bacon, "Three Sisters Garden" Micro Greens with Prairie Grass Cafe's homemade Hollandaise Sauce oozing with flavor to melt into the egg yolks and garnished with garden Basil ($14).

"We will be changing the special each week - I would not be surprised to see a local peach and blackberry French toast on a future menu," says Stegner.
