Chili cook-off Aug, 20 to help send Prospect band to Macy's parade

The PMK Knightshift, a booster group for the Prospect High School marching band, will host its first Chili Cook-off on Aug. 20, at the Mount Prospect Bluesmobile Cruise Nights.

The event will raise funds to help send the 200 students in the Prospect Marching Knights to this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.

Entries in the chili competition are capped at 15 participants. Samples can be purchased at the car show by the public, who will then cast their vote for the best tasting chili. The winner will be rewarded with a large-screen LED TV, grand champion trophy and, of course, bragging rights. A guest judge/chef from Tokens and Tankards will award a second winner with a $50 gift certificate.
