Middle school actors hit the high seas in Lake Zurich

Patrons of Bobbers restaurant in Lake Zurich were treated to a special performance Tuesday night.

Middle school-age actors from the Cricket Theatre Company of Lake Zurich performed a piece from their upcoming musical "Anything Goes - Young Performers' Edition."

"'Anything Goes' is a show that takes place on a cruise ship. We thought this would be a fun way to create community awareness about our program and give the kids a chance to perform before they get on stage," said Cricket Theatre Company Co-Founder Marybeth Euker.

The amusing story of boy-meets-girl on the high seas still keeps all the charm and whimsy of the original production, but allows it to be appropriate for performers and audiences of any age.

The show will feature fantastic numbers such as "Blow, Gabriel, Blow," "It's De-Lovely," "Friendship," "Anything Goes," "There's No Cure Like Travel" and "Bon Voyage."

It's directed by Bridget Euker and Sydney Sorrells.

Upcoming shows are Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22, at the Performing Arts Center at Lake Zurich High School. Tickets are $9 in advance or $11 at the door. Order tickets by going to: www.seatyourself.biz
