College coaches head to West Virginia to aid in flood relief

CLAY, W.Va. (AP) - Alabama coach Nick Saban, Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher and Florida State assistant Rick Trickett will be in Clay County on Wednesday to help with flood relief.

WCHS-TV (http://bit.ly/29I4bhU ) reports the coaches will visit Clay High School on Wednesday. West Virginia Sens. Doug Facemire, D-Braxton, and Mike Romano, D-Harrison, announced the visit.

Saban, Fisher and Trickett are expected to announce donations of football uniforms by college football teams across the country for local football programs that lost nearly everything in flooding last month. U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin will join the coaches.

Saban is a Fairmont native, Fisher is a native of Clarksburg, and Trickett is the father of former West Virginia University quarterback Clint Trickett and a native of Masontown.

Saban and Fisher announced Thursday that they were collections donations for schools affected by the floods.
