Finalists named in Des Plaines Curb Appeal contest

Voting is now open in Des Plaines Mayor Matt Bogusz's 3rd annual Curb Appeal Challenge, a home improvement competition.

In the best curb appeal category, the finalists are homes at 385 W. Millers Road, 1122 E. Walnut Ave., 1311 E. Prairie Ave. and 1321 Callen Lane. In the most improved category, the finalists are homes at 668 S. Fourth Ave., 304 Amherst Ave., 2766 S. Scott St. and 1018 E. Grant Drive.

The finalists were chosen by the Des Plaines Garden Club. First and second place winners will be chosen by those who vote at desplaines.org/curbappeal.

First place winners in the two categories get $500 and second place wins $250, courtesy of Village Bank & Trust.
