Tax assessment help centers available

The Chief County Assessment Office of Lake County will hold 15 tax assessment help centers this fall to help residents understand their property assessment. Residents will work one-on-one with a member of the assessment office staff for personal assistance in evaluating their property tax assessment. The county also provides web applications to the public that will be used during these sessions at two locations: University Center of Lake County, 1200 University Center Drive, Grayslake, 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24, 30 and Sept. 7, 14 and 21, and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, Aug. 27 and Sept 10; and, the Lake County Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville, 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 11, 18 and Sept. 8, and Tuesday, Aug. 23 and Monday, Aug. 29. Taxpayer advocates are available daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chief County Assessment Office, 18 North County St., Waukegan.
