Bike race to impact local roads

Motorists are reminded to plan for a bike race that will affect traffic from 7 to 10 a.m. Sunday in the Lake Zurich area. The USAT sanctioned Olympic distance triathlon continue its tradition in Lake Zurich at Paulus Park. The event has grown to more than 500 participants and is one of the area's top Olympic distance events. A rolling bike course will be closed to traffic from approximately 7 to 10 a.m. Areas where traffic will be affected include: southbound Fairfield Road from Ivanhoe Road to Old McHenry Road; westbound Old McHenry from Fairfield to Echo Lake Road; and southbound Echo Lake from Old McHenry to Miller Road. There also will be limited access to eastbound Old McHenry Road from Route 12.
