Schaumburg man killed in motorcycle crash

A Schaumburg man died Saturday from injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided with an SUV in Hoffman Estates, police said Thursday.

Brandon Canales, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 9:20 p.m. Saturday at Route 72 and Huntington Boulevard, Hoffman Estates police said.

The driver and passengers in the SUV were treated and released, according to police.

According to the Cook County medical examiner's office, Canales died from multiple injuries.The death was ruled an accident.

Police declined to give other details about the crash, which remains under investigation by the Hoffman Estates police traffic reconstruction team.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for Canales' wife and three children, ages 5, 3 and 3 months old. According to an obituary posted on the fundraising page, Canales was born in Arlington Heights and graduated from Conant High School in Hoffman Estates in 2005. He worked for S&J Towing and Recovery in Barrington, according to the obituary.
