The River's Danielle Tufano to host library's teen talent show July 30

Aurora Public Library's eighth annual Teen Talent Show and Competition, presented by the library's teen committee, is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Copley Theatre, 8 E. Galena Blvd. in downtown Aurora.

The show is free and open to the public. The performers, which range in age from 13 to 18, represent eight area schools.

Last year's Teen Talent Show and Competition winner, Olivia Ports of Aurora, will take the stage to perform during the judges' deliberations.

There are 10 contestants in this year's show. They are (in order of audition):

• Soloist Ruby Garcia, 17, of Aurora, a senior at West Aurora High School;

• Cellist Elliot Gallegos, 13, of Aurora, a seventh grader at Carmel Montessori Academy in Warrenville;

• Soloist Elyse Koranda, 15, of Aurora, a home-schooled sophomore;

• Soloist Keala Hails, 17, of Aurora, a junior at West Aurora High School;

• Soloist Barnali (Barnali Behari), 14, of Aurora, a freshman at Metea Valley High School;

• Dancer Maryam Rodgers, 18, of Joliet, a freshman at College of DuPage;

• Soloist Corin Sin (Corinda Singphothignal), 17, of Aurora, a senior at Waubonsie Valley High School;

• Dancer Prancing Diva (Charisma Farmer), 13, of Aurora, an eighth grader at Cowherd Middle School;

• Soloist Charlotte Evans, 13, of Aurora, an eighth grader at Jefferson Middle School;

• Flutist Kavya Anjur, 17, of Aurora, a senior at Metea Valley High School.

Emceeing the competition this year will be 95.9 The River radio personality Danielle Tufano.

Performers will be judged by two guest judges and three library teen advisory board members. The winning performer will receive a trophy.

Judge Shannon Scott is a former Teen Talent Show contestant who competed for the last time in August 2015. An audience favorite, Shannon performed in five previous Aurora Public Library teen talent shows.

Judge Jonathan Hauser is the president of the Fox Valley Orchestra.
