Warren Township wants youth mentors

Volunteer mentors are wanted to help Warren Township Youth and Family Services in the Gurnee area. Officials said the program is slated to begin in the fall. Offered in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, the program will match each adult mentor with a student in grades 5-7. Participants will meet twice each month from 6-7:30 p.m. in a structured group setting at the Gurnee Teen Center. During the program, mentors and youth will engage in a combination of one-on-one time and group activities focused on the social and emotional development of youth. For more information, contact Katie O'Brien of Big Brothers Big Sisters at (312) 207-5643 or obrien@bbbschgo.org.
