Authorities seek three men wanted in pair of Lake County armed robberies

Lake County authorities on Sunday released images taken from surveillance video cameras showing three men they believe responsible for a pair of armed robberies in recent weeks.

The most recent robbery occurred just before 2 a.m. Friday, when three black men wearing masks walked into the BP Gas Station at 39105 Route 41 in Wadsworth and robbed the clerks at gunpoint, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The robbers obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the gas station on foot, sheriff's police said. A sheriff's canine team responded and tracked the offenders to a location where it's believed they drove off in a vehicle.

Investigators believe the same men robbed the Cardinal Wine and Liquor, 39172 North Sheridan Road in Beach Park, just after 11 p.m. June 14. In that case, three black men wearing masks walked into the store and robbed two employees at gunpoint, taking an undisclosed amount of cash before leaving. A canine team also responded and tracked the robbers to a location where it's believed they fled in a vehicle, officials said.

Lake County Sheriff's detectives continue to investigate both cases. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Lake County Crime Tip-Line at (847) 377-4424 or Lake County Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222.
