Four bands to compete in Battle of the Bands Round 2

Side Street Studio Arts, in conjunction with the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission, Fat Cat Custom Guitars & Repair, and Rediscover Records, host the third annual summer-long "Battle of the Bands," a celebration of local and regional musicians.

Fourteen bands have filled the bracketed competition, and the battles began May 27.

Round 2 continues on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9.

Two bands - The Ferns and Think Easy on Friday and Home Burial and Early Autumn Station on Saturday - will perform and the audience will vote to decide which band moves on to the semi-final round. You have to be there to vote!

The doors open at 7 p.m. at Side Street Studio Arts, 15 Ziegler Court in downtown Elgin. Performance order will be decided by coin flip the night of the show.

The first band performs at 7:30 p.m.

It is an all-ages show. There is a $5 suggested donation at the door.

The final battle between two bands will be held Friday, Aug. 12, with the winner will receiving over $3,000 in prizes from Fat Cat Custom Guitars & Repair, Rediscover Records, Side Street Studio Arts, a performance spot on the main stage at Nightmare on Chicago Street, and more.
