Don't give up fight against Rt. 53

Why pay hundreds or thousands of dollars to see the play "Hamilton" when we have great theater right here in Lake County. Yes, I am writing about the Route 53.

Tollway Director Craig Johnson and Tollway Chairman Bob Schillerstrom have spoken from the Emerald City to us Munchkins, "We have made the decision to proceed!"

The Great and Powerful Johnson stated, "It's great people come (to speak) but they may be under the impression we haven't made a decision. We made a decision."

Us Munchkins can speak, but our thoughts and arguments against Route 53 will fall on deaf ears. Why listen to reason when you have the power to silence any opposition?

The next question is: "Why go through with any more meetings (meetings that cost taxpayers money) since the Great and Powerful Johnson/Schillerstrom have made a decision?"

The more I think about this mess, the more this reflects the WWE. On the one corner you have those supporting Route 53 and in the other corner, those opposing Route 53.

So, the debate begins, but it is over before the bell rings because the Great and Powerful Johnson/Schillerstrom have already declared that Route 53 will proceed.

Yeah, that is the way our system works!

To those opposing Route 53, don't give up; this fight is worth the effort, even if we lose. The Great and Powerful are committed to building Route 53, we need to be just as committed.
