Kids activities highlight day two of Lakeside Festival

Friday belonged to the kids during day two of the Lakeside Festival in Crystal Lake.

Family day activities included face painting, magic, a stilt walker, balloon twister, a petting zoon and The Story Lady, Jennifer Kaap.

Kids also provided some of the entertainment as members of the McHenry County Youth Orchestra performed in the afternoon. The music continued with locally well-known bands 7th Heaven, Dangerous Joes and Hi-Infidelity.

Weekend highlights will include and kids parade and kids ice cream eating contest on Saturday as well as visits by Chicago sports team mascots and a baggo tournament.

Sunday will feature a parade down Dole Avenue at 1 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.
