Local Early Childhood Expert Offers Four-Class Parent-Child Workshop

Jennifer Rogers, a local childhood expert and teacher with nearly 25 years of experience, is offering a four-class early childhood workshop for parents and their young children. During the classes, children will have social activities and games, a period of time of guided movement and parent-child activity, as well as a short, informal presentation on the topic of the day. The classes will wrap-up with additional play, movement, and a time for parents to ask follow-up questions.

Classes will take place at 9:30 on July 26th, July 28th, August 2nd, and August 4th and will last approximately one hour. Classes will be held at the Wheaton Montessori School, located at 1960 N. Gary Avenue in Wheaton, IL, just north of the Cosley Zoo.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, July 26th: Language Growth

Thursday, July 28th: Eating and Nutrition

Tuesday, August 2nd: Bathroom Independence and Potty Training

Thursday, August 4th: Early Education Choices

Jennifer Rogers has been a Montessori teacher for almost 25 years. She has a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies and English from Albion College and a master's degree in Theological Studies from Candler Seminary at Emory University. She completed AMI primary training in Atlanta, AMI assistants to infancy in Denver, and the AMI Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies. She has also completed the comprehensive and advanced continuum Orton Gillingham training. In her time away from school Jennifer enjoys spending time with her three children and husband, baking bread, reading, yoga, and writing.
