Future soccer stars learn from Red Stars in Libertyville

Young soccer enthusiasts were dribbling, passing and shooting with their role models Wednesday in Libertyville.

About 60 girls ages 8 to 17 got a chance to practice with women's soccer players from the Chicago Red Stars organization during a weeklong camp at the Libertyville Soccer Complex.

"It's very humbling in the sense these girls kind of look up to us," Red Stars Reserves player Kassidy Brown said.

"They get better with their shot and better with their passing within a couple of days," Brown added.

Brown, of Lake Zurich, is a Carmel Catholic High School graduate who now plays for the Chicago Red Stars Reserves under an amateur contract.

Girls ended the camp Wednesday with an autograph session, as Red Stars players signed balls, shirts and even water jugs.
