5 children on van among 6 hurt in Indianapolis crash

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities say five children attending a summer camp are among six people who were hurt in a multiple-vehicle collision on the city's north side.

Indianapolis Fire Department Battalion Chief Rita Reith (ryt) says a van was carrying 14 children at the time of the crash about 4 p.m. Monday. She says five of the children between the ages of 7 and 14, were transported to Riley Hospital for Children with minor injuries.

Reith says a 29-year-old woman also was transported to a hospital in serious condition.

Reith says the van and two other vehicles were stopped for a traffic light when a fourth vehicle collided with them.
