Observe budding artists at Chicago Botanic Garden art festival July 2-3

Art with a botanic theme, use or material will be featured in the sixth annual Chicago Botanic Garden art festival, July 2 and 3.

The festival is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the Esplanade at the garden at 1000 Lake-Cook Road, Glencoe. It will showcase original works of 100 juried artists in paintings, photography, ceramics, cement, metal, fiber, wood, jewelry and other pieces.

Bring budding artists to the Family Activity tent to create their own masterpieces.

View masters at work with interactive art demos and booth chats taking place all weekend long. Easy listening music compliments the Chicago Botanic Garden. A full listing of artists appearing at this event can be found at Amdur Productions' website, amdurproductions.com.

No admission fee. Regular parking fees apply. Free parking every day of the year for Garden members.

This year at the festivals, Amdur Productions has started a new charity initiative called the Green Ribbon Project. The project connects the festival with an important cause and aims to stimulate art buying at the festival. Participating artists put a green ribbon on a piece of their choice in their booth and when the piece is sold the artist agrees to give 10 percent of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society, which is the dedicated charity for the Chicago Botanic Garden Art Festival.
