Last call for art submissions

Entries for the annual Bogs in Art show that promotes local artists, increases awareness of the world's unique bog ecosystems and helps raise funds to support Volo Bog State Natural Area are being accepted through Wednesday, June 29. Artists of all media can submit up to three works for display and/or for sale at auction, with 25 percent of proceeds supporting programs and projects at Volo Bog. Submissions will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the bog office, 28478 W. Brandenburg Road, Ingleside. A registration form must be attached and is available at www.FriendsofVoloBog.org, by request at dnr.volobog@illinois.gov or by calling (815) 344-1294. The form outlines the requirements for subject matter that must reflect an understanding and appreciation of bogs as ecosystems.
