Mt. Prospect food pantry, in low supply, asks public for donations

Mount Prospect's Food Pantry is reaching out to the community for donations because shelves are in low supply, village officials said.

Summertime experiences a dip in donations, even though a number of seniors and children rely on the food year-round, officials said. Because children who receive free or reduced lunches during the school year are now on break, the pantry has been giving an extra bag of food to their families.

To donate, bring nonperishable items to the second floor of village hall, 50 S. Emerson St., anytime from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

A list of suggested foods can be found at mountprospect.org/foodpantry.
