I took this photo in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands. I am Dutch (as well as American) and went back to the Netherlands several years ago and lived there for about two years. During that time I stayed at an apartment on the second floor, overlooking a pond with beautiful blossoming trees in the spring. Many different birds would come and nest in the trees. They would move around so fast that I was surprised to see that I actually captured this Blue Jay with a twig in its beak!

I took this photo while on a road trip to the west coast last month. My wife and I stopped at Morro Bay CA. to see the sea otters and this sea gull landed on our car and decided that riding is better then flying. He didn't fly away until we were slowly driving on the road that rings the bay.
