OneChurch Precision Shopping Cart Brigade Marches in the 4th of July Parade to Benefit the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry

The Precision Shopping Cart Brigade performs again during the Fourth of July Parade as they collect non perishable food donations for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. The Brigade has practiced to coordinate maneuvers so the Glen Ellyn audience will be entertained as well as participate in the donations that they bring to the parade. The Precision Cart Marchers accept donations of groceries as well as cash donations as they march past. The purpose of this annual marching group is to raise awareness about hunger in our own community. The Brigade is organized by OneChurch - a partnership of several Glen Ellyn churches joined together in mission, service, and ministry. Participating this year are Grace Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Episcopal Church and St. Petronille's Catholic Church. There are many opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate. Activities include:

Distribute fliers to homes along the parade route with a friendly request for donations, Decorate shopping carts prior to the parade, Shuttle donations from the Brigade carts to the support truck during the parade, Drive a support vehicle, Undload donations into the Food Pantry after the parade, Ask your friends and neighbors to bring a donation.
