Red Bulls beat Seattle, Kansas defeat Dallas

HARRISON, New Jersey (AP) - Mike Grella scored goals in each half to lead the New York Red Bulls to a 2-0 win over the Seattle Sounders in MLS on Sunday while Benny Feilhaber's penalty secured a 2-0 victory for Sporting Kansas City over FC Dallas.

Grella opened the scoring for the Red Bulls in the 18th minute, tapping in the rebound after Sacha Kljestan's blast from the edge of the box hit the post.

Then he scored his second on the hour when he chipped over the goalkeeper's head from just inside the area.

The Red Bulls kept a clean sheet for the fourth match in a row and with the win, they moved ahead of New York City FC into second place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Kansas scored twice in four minutes just before halftime in beating Dallas.

Lawrence Olum broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute when he headed in a free-kick from Feilhaber, who then scored himself in stoppage time from the penalty spot.
