Help Fight Hunger at the Wheaton July 4 Parade

Supplies dwindle at local food pantries during the summer months. The Wheaton July 4th Parade provides an opportunity for the community to fill those shelves.

The Shopping Cart Brigade from St. Matthew United Church of Christ will be marching in the 2016 Wheaton July 4th Parade. The parade steps off at 10am on North Main St. and continues to downtown Wheaton. This is the 36th appearance of the precision drill team. Food and cash donations will benefit the food pantries at the People's Resource Center and the Interfaith Food Pantry.

Suggested items to donate are:

Canned vegetables or fruits, soup (canned and mixes), canned tuna or chicken, beans (dry or canned) and rice (dry), baking mixes/pancake mixes, spaghetti sauce and pasta, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, diapers (sizes 4, 5 and 6) and baby formula

St. Matthew United Church of Christ is located at 1420 S. Gables Blvd., Wheaton, IL 60189.
