IU trustees to consider $53M upgrades to Memorial Stadium

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Trustees at Indiana University on Friday are to consider a $53 million plan that would enclose the south end zone of Memorial Stadium.

The board will take up the plan during its business meeting at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The plan calls for a more than 66,000-square-foot addition to the football stadium in Bloomington. There would be a rehabilitation and treatment center and a facility for academic support. The football team's locker room would be renovated and expanded and a players' lounge would be added.

The plan also would add two new video boards. One would be 40-feet by 70-feet in the south end zone and the other 20-feet by 60-feet in the north end zone.

The school anticipates paying for the renovations with donations and athletics department revenues.
