Filly running at Arlington on Saturday will have plenty of fans

One particular horse running at Arlington International Racecourse on Friday certainly won't be lacking fan support.

A filly in the fourth race named Miss Swift Kitty will be represented more than 70 owners who signed up for the first Arlington Racing Club program (there is also a second one).

Arlington senior marketing director Howard Sudberry said response has been great for the Racing Club program, which is for nonprofit and costs members a one-time fee of $500.

For that, they receive an Arlington season pass and other benefits.

If the horse makes a profit, the club members can get up to their $500 back and anything over that would be donated to the Galloping Out horse rescue fund. Miss Swift Kitty is trained by Arlington's defending champion Larry Rivelli.

Formers Bears coach Mike Ditka and his restaurant partners are in the first club and Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville is part of the second club.

The Club 2 horse is trained by Mike Stidham. It is a filly named Forever Royal.

Stidham is in the process of finding a race for her. She is training and ready to go.
