Two arrested in Mundelein as part of meth probe
Two Mundelein residents were charged as part of what authorities said was an investigation into the sale and use of methamphetamines.
Police Chief Eric Guenther said Monday that Desiray A. Selvage, 30, of the 2000 block of Victoria Road, was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jose O. Guinto, 50, of 2000 block of Victoria Road, was charged with possession of a fraudulent identification card, unlawful possession of altered license plate, unlawful use of driver's license, possession of an altered driver's license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Guenther said Mundelein police, the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System and the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group executed a search warrant at the Victoria Road home about 12:45 p.m. June 2. He said the warrant was obtained from a Lake County judge after a lengthy investigation into the accusations the residents were using and selling methamphetamines.
Mundelein police received assistance from the other two law-enforcement agencies based on the residents' history of violence and drug use. Guenther said Selvage and Guinto were charged after evidence of fictitious documents, marijuana and methamphetamine were located in the house.
Charges against two other residents of the Victoria Road house are pending additional investigation, authorities said.
