Swimming and a host of beach activities were part of the Mundelein Park & Recreation District's free Community Picnic on Saturday.
The Diamond Lake Beach was a perfect location for the event in light of Saturday's warm temperatures.
Participants stayed cool by going for a swim or hitting the lake on a paddleboard, in a paddle boat or kayak.
The day's activities began with a free Zumba class provided by instructors from Mundelein Park District's Park View Health & Fitness center. Other activities included beach volleyball, sand castle building, a floating SportsPark and a kid's craft area.
A water ski performance by the Wonder Lake Water Ski Show Team was held at the end of the event. The show featured tricks, freestyle jumps, fast-paced barefoot skiing and pyramid formations.
