Gordie Howe, known as "Mr. Hockey," has died. He was 88.

During his stint with the Houston Aeros in the World Hockey Association, Howe played two games in the WHA Finals at the Twin Ice Arena at Randhurst Mall in Mount Prospect.

The finals were moved to Mount Prospect because the Chicago Cougars home ice, the International Amphitheatre, was unavailable for the finals because a production of "Peter Pan," was playing there.

Howe and the Aeros swept the Cougars 4-0.
