Des Plaines veterans hosting flag disposal ceremony
Des Plaines VFW Post 2992 is hosting a flag disposal ceremony on Flag Day to retire worn and unserviceable American flags.
The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Park, on Lee Street between Howard and Touhy avenues.
Those who have flags in need of disposal are asked to bring them to the ceremony. Park district day campers are also expected to attend to learn flag etiquette.
