Area Attorney Serves on Committee for Agora Sneakerball Gala

Ryan Gardner, an Associate at Lavelle Law in Palatine was among those in attendance recently at the sold-out AGORA Sneakerball Gala to benefit Kicks 4 The City and Chicago Public School's Students in Temporary Living Situations Program (STLS). Gardner served as a committee member for the event.

"It was a unique formal gala with the exception that attendees wore sneakers to raise awareness of the plight of homeless students in Chicago Public Schools," said Gardner. The Sneakerball raised over $40,000 to assist efforts of partners like The Athlete's Foot who support Kicks 4 The City across major cities in the U.S. "Our goal is to provide footwear to these kids who are already facing far too many challenges in their lives. Basic necessities like gym shoes that so many of us take for granted are hard to come by and our goal was to help Kicks 4 The City strengthen their effort to creatively educate and inspire kids who are too often forgotten and lost in the system."

Held at Venue One and hosted by Laroyce Hawkins of NBC's hit show Chicago PD, the event featured live music, food and drinks, a DJ, a silent auction and interactive games for attendees. Gardner felt that the attendees made a significant impact through their donations. "The need is overwhelming but events like this which not only raise money but raise awareness are critical. At Lavelle Law, we are committed to events like the Sneakerball Gala and I look forward to further involvement in the overall effort."
