Roadwork to close Route 60

Editor's note: A brief about the start of a road construction project Monday on a portion of Route 60 in Fremont Township listed the wrong agency handling the work. It is an Illinois Department of Transportation project.

A stretch of Route 60 near Mundelein will be closed to traffic next week so crews can remove a drainage structure beneath the roadway, the Lake County Division of Transportation announced. Starting Monday, June 6, Route 60 will be closed between Cedar Lake Road and Fairfield Road. The road should reopen Friday, June 10. Signs will direct motorists to detour routes.
